“Four Days at Marie Curtis Park” by Michael Trommer
Recorded in four different moments of 2016 in Ontario, Canada.
“Marie Curtis Park lies along the shores of Lake Ontario, approximately 20km west of Toronto’s downtown core. It is situated in a typical Canadian ’exurban’ area – a mixture of upscale neighbourhoods, old industrial regions, waterfront parks, commuter rail/road routes and strip malls. The area’s soundscape – a shifting blend of anthrophony, biophony and geophony – has long held a fascination for me, and, as such, has become the subject of numerous reiterative field recordings. This release is comprised of four such recordings (made in late spring, early summer, late summer and late autumn/early winter of 2016) arranged chronologically and contiguously.”
